No news is good news? Yeah, right.

I had planned to be making ya'll jealous of my lakefront lifestyle, regaling you with tales of boating, partying and camping, but Mother Nature hasn't been co-operating. Wind, rain, and otherwise gloomy weather has put a damper on my summer so far. Well, my spring. It still isn't officially summer.
For those of you wondering whose dulcet tones those were on my answering machine, they belong to my friend Steph, who is now my second roommate. So no, Dad, and no, mom, I do not have a new woman living with me. Sorry to disappoint you.
I've been in a whirlwind of writing for the paper, doing stories on Gretzky coming to Kelowna with the Olympic team (a scoop!), a local football player getting signed by the Montreal Alouettes (another scoop!) and a local dude winning an online poker tournament and earning a spot at the World Series of Poker final (can we say "scoop" again?). Which means he's got got a chance to win $10 million US - the purse is $96 million overall.
Hmmm... I might just have to bone up on my Texas hold'em skills.
If three straight scoops, four earthquakes in California, or my sister calling me from the Playboy Mansion wasn't enough to convince you the end of the world is at hand, here's the latest sign of the Apocolypse.
